Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

McDonald’s has collaborated with the iconic Australian brand UGG to create slippers inspired by chicken nuggets — and they’ll be giving them away for six hours only in Australia.

Named the Nuggies, these booties have been designed to resemble chicken nuggets, right down to the texture, according to the fast food giant — a claim that feels impossible yet intriguing.

In keeping with the theme, these nugget booties will arrive at your door in a giant sauce packet instead of the typical shoebox.

“We are excited to bring Nuggies to life — combining two iconic Aussie favorites that are perfect for a comfy night in,” said McDonald’s senior brand manager Liz Whitbread in a press release.

“Set your alarm and be quick for your chance to get your hands on a pair!”

They’re not kidding when they say you’ll need to be quick. The offer is open for six hours only — between 8 p.m. (EST) and 2 a.m. (EST) — on September 5. in Australian stores.

During that time you’ll need to log on to this section of the McDonald’s website and follow instructions. Probably also keep your fingers crossed because there are only 50 pairs of these free Nuggies to give away.

Following in KFC’s footsteps

The Nuggies are only the second drop of chicken-inspired shoes to grace our lives after KFC hit the fashion runways back in 2020.

KFC and Crocs teamed up to debut an $89.99 shoe, which was immediately snapped on by stylish fashionistas attending New York Fashion Week.

The clogs featured signature KFC bucket stripes printed fried chicken imagery and bizarrely chicken-scented shoe charms.

The limited edition “Bucket Clog” made its debut on the feet of global artist Me Love Me, who teamed her sky-high platforms with a sequined jumpsuit.

“Combining the unmistakeable look of our world-famous fried chicken and signature KFC bucket, with the unparalleled comfort and style of Crocs, these shoes are what fried chicken footwear dreams are made of,” said KFC U.S. CMO Andrea Zahumensky at the time.

The shoes came in two unisex versions – the Kentucky Fried Chicken x Crocs Bucket Clog, a platform-style, and the Kentucky Fried Chicken x Crocs Classic Clog, which features a low-to-the-ground sole.
